About Us
ESN VUT Brno is the local section of the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) operating at Brno University of Technology (VUT). We are a student-led, non-profit volunteer organization that supports international students and strengthens the international dimension of university life. Our section is part of a broader European ESN network, cooperating with other ESN sections in Brno, across the Czech Republic, and internationally.
Our mission is to welcome and support incoming and currently enrolled international students, help them integrate into life in Brno and at VUT, and create opportunities for meaningful intercultural exchange. We focus on reducing common barriers international students face social, informational, and cultural by offering guidance, community, and practical support. At the same time, we aim to enrich the local student community by making international experiences accessible and visible to all students.
ESN VUT Brno organizes activities and services that make international students’ stay smoother, more social, and more connected to the local environment. Our typical activities include:
Welcome and integration support: helping international students orient themselves in Brno and at VUT, providing essential information, and connecting them with peers.
Community events: social events, trips, cultural evenings, and themed activities designed to help students meet and form friendships.
Intercultural exchange: events that encourage sharing cultures, languages, and everyday experiences between international and local students.
Student advocacy and communication: collecting feedback from international students, communicating common needs, and cooperating with university stakeholders where appropriate.
Partnership and project work: collaborating with local organizations, student groups, and partners to deliver higher-quality events and benefits for students.
